Welcome to the brand new My Vet Animal Clinic website and blog!
As many of you know, 2013 was a big year for My Vet. A new building, a new computer system, a new clinic cat and now a new website! Here are some details:

After 21 years at the original location of 300 W Fourth St, we relocated just a few blocks away to our new clinic at 13 E. 2nd Street. This location allows for easier accessibility, parking, and more room for our clients and pets in the lobby and exam room areas.

Our new computer system was just installed in early December, utilizing the IDEXX Cornerstone software. While Dr. Griese held out on this technology as long as he could, we all realized we could improve the efficiency of our clinic and provide a better service to our clients. No more handwritten receipts, prescription labels or vaccine records! In addition, check-in and out, prescription refills, food sales and client file retrieval can all be accessed and completed much faster.  We're all still learning and have appreciated the patience of our clients as we create their record in the computer. For those of you who haven't been in yet, please check out the "Forms" section of the website to download and complete the client registration form. Since every client has to be entered into the system, we're asking everyone to update their info with us so we don't enter you in with incorrect addresses, phone numbers, etc. Some of our client files have the original registration forms from 1992!

The new clinic cat is Maeva, a one year old gray and white Domestic Shorthair. Maeva was a stray found by one of our pharmaceutical reps in the area. After an exhaustive and unsuccessful search for owners, she was brought in to the clinic to be scanned for a microchip. Drs Kamp and DeWilde gave her a thorough checkup and realized she was dealing with several medical issues. While she was being treated, she took up residence on Dr. DeWilde's desk and hasn't left since. She's still adjusting to the busy sounds, smells and traffic inside a busy vet clinic, but occasionally wanders up to the reception desk to greet clients from one of the office chairs.

Last but not least, our new website! With a growing following of our Facebook page, we decided to launch our own website to provide a stationary location for information. We hope this will help others find and learn about our clinic, and serve as a resource of information for all our clients and pets. We hope to post regular articles on animal health topics, as well as about any events at My Vet. We may even have an "Ask Dr. Griese" column. Submit your questions and ideas to myvet_animalclinic@yahoo.com.

While we've had many new changes this past year, we're still proud to be the same old Eureka general veterinary practice. We hope that these changes will allow us to continue and improve our relationships with our clients and their pets. Dr. Griese and staff are still providing practical, quality care to the pets of Eureka and surrounding communities. The building may be new, but the faces and ideals inside are the same. We hope to see you soon!
